Upstate life

Is it Spring yet?

Look, I get it, I chose to live on the East Coast. Snow happens. Cold happens. I can even have fun with it.

BUT. We’re so close to a new season (okay not really but let me pretend) and I just want it so badly. It’s not Boston levels of snow, but this snow can now suck it. Also my parents who separately emailed me to tell me about the 80 degree heatwave out west (JK I love them).

I moved away from this place at 18. WILLINGLY.

I want to run outside and not worry about falling to my death on ice. I would like to sit in the actual sun instead of sitting in my bathroom where the heat works best and the sun shines brightly so I can pretend it’s the summer.

It’s the winter mopes. In general life is pretty good. But when 20 degree days are rare magical unicorns, you just want to punch that stupid ground hog into giving you spring sooner. Right?

Welcome to Spring

Well, since it’s technically the first day of spring I figured some color was in order. We had hail and sleet last night and my commute was all rain and dark clouds this morning. But hey, it’s spring! Right? …right?! Luckily I remembered at the last minute that I’m doing cat care training at the humane society after work and brought a change of clothes. Not sure how involved it’ll be but I know from experience with my furry friend that tights and black clothing don’t last long with cats.

Bit of Color

Today is going to be an unusually warm 50 degrees (I even left a window open in my apartment to the great excitement of my cat), so I decided to bust out that spring flavor. And I’m readjusting my morning schedule since waking up in the dark is no fun. You know what is fun? Bright and colorful tights.

Springing Into Action

My morning was actually the opposite of today’s title, because thanks to the daylight saving switch, waking up this morning was tough. We’re back to darker mornings for a while, so I had to up the brightness quite high on this picture to see anything. Crossing my fingers the weather decides to start acting springy, and I’m going to do my part and start springing into action on some life improvements. We’ll see how it goes.
